Julia Blackburn is an LA-based freelance Creative Director focused on making fresh, groundbreaking work. She’s not afraid to venture into the unknown to make it happen (which usually makes it more fun).
Julia brings 25 years experience in the industry. Well, 24. She dropped out of advertising briefly and found Wieden+Kennedy 12, the advertising school slash experiment in Portland. The idea of for good clients and working as a collective at an insanely high level was very inspiring and formative.
She’s spent a long time freelancing in tech and launched apple watch series 3 and series 4, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro, and CD’d launch of iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro.
Julia wrote “Go Forth” and created three years of iconic advertising for Levi’s. She launched “The Girl Effect,” the Nike Foundation’s important work helping girls in developing countries and made their bold all type launch film.
For years she was an art curator for Ace Hotel (London, Toronto, New Orleans) and helped dream up a new kind of hotel with them called Sister City in NYC.
Julia has endless energy and approaches every project like it’s the best one yet. She loves solving problems, making the world better, changing behaviors, moving hearts, making funny shit, and crafting visually memorable work.
